Yoga and Fitness
YOGA: Yoga is breath. Yoga is movement. Yoga is finding joy. It’s getting messy, and embracing the transient nature of life, and everything imperfectly perfect!
As much as I love being of service through massage, one of my passions is teaching yoga. I find so much joy empowering people to build strength not only in the physical body, but in the mind, heart, and spirit as well. I know that every one of my clients has the tools within them to be healthy and strong - so I recommend yoga as a tool to access their greater selves. I see yoga as one of the most accessible ways for anyone and everyone to “level up” life. Yoga is a significant wellness tool and life hack.
The style of Yoga that I practice is a full body workout, and incorporates meditation and breathwork. The intention in my classes is first to downregulate your nervous system, then warm up the muscles, increase circulation while targeting the connective tissue to release (stretch), and build strength using your own body weight and positive stress.
The more general definition of yoga is that it’s a practice that combines physical postures, breath control, meditation, and ethical principles to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. It is an ancient tradition that originated in India and has gained popularity all around the world. Through regular practice, yoga can help improve flexibility, strength, balance, and focus while reducing stress and anxiety. It is a holistic approach to health that can benefit individuals of all ages and abilities.

FOAM ROLLING: Another tool I like to share with my community is Foam Rolling. I may be shooting myself in the foot here, but….. foam rolling is self massage. The technical term is “Self Myofascial Release”. I recommend that you foam roll every day - even if it’s just for a few minutes. Any amount is the right amount.
